School employee charged with molestation
Brian Howland, 37, groundskeeper at East Greenbush schools, charged with criminal sexual act
QUEENSBURY -- A groundskeeper at the East Greenbush schools has been charged with molesting a child.
Brian Howland, 37, of 1619 First St., Rensselaer, is charged with a criminal sexual act in the first degree, which State Police said occurred this summer in Lake George.
The crime is considered a violent felony and Howland faces 12 1/2 to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Howland, an eight-year district employee, was suspended with pay while school district officials conduct an investigation, according to Assistant Superintendent Larry Edson.
Police said the incident did not involve an East Greenbush student.
Howland was arraigned in Queensbury town court and is being held in the Warren County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000.
