As video rolled, police said a man was caught giving tips to a teen as he stole a car Fort Worth police set out as bait.
Wearing a pair of gloves, Jose Lopez, 36, jumped into the car and warned his 14-year-old passenger to be careful not to leave prints; and all of it was captured on camera.
"They were very excited when they got into it - as far as getting into this luxury car, stealing it and what they were going to do with it," said Lt. Chris Beckrich, Fort Worth Police Department.
Lopez continued his lesson by encouraging the boy to search for valuables.
"You got to take whatever you can fool," he said.
Not knowing police were already on their tail, Lopez began part two of his lesson, which was how to hide a stolen car for later use.
But as he drove toward the spot where he said they could pick up the car the next day, sirens cut the lesson short.
"Oh [explicative], we got the cop right there," he said.
While earlier in the video the young teen could be heard giggling, the laughs were halted when they saw two squad cars and a police helicopter in pursuit.
"I don't want to go to juvenile," the teen can be heard saying in the video. "I'm not ready to go to juvenile."
In response, Lopez tells the boy to jump out and try to escape.
"Are you ready to run, because I'm ready," he said.
At that point, police shut off the car's engine and locked the doors by remote control.
And as officers ran up to the car, cries of surrender are heard.
"I know, I'm a kid," the teen said as officers asked him to exit the vehicle. "I'm a kid."
