A Bennington College student who fell through a window Wednesday has died.
Twenty-year-old Kelly Muzzi of Troy, Mich. and another student were rehearsing a dance when they fell through a window and plummeted 20-feet to a patio.
Muzzi was rushed to Albany Medical Center where she died Friday.
The other student, 19-year-old Laura Jawitz of New Haven, Conn., is at Yale Medical Center in Connecticut. She was upgraded Thursday to serious condition.

That's the thing Mikey, they were careful. I know Bennington College, is gorgeous because it's so old, however the window they fell through wasn't put together right. There is NO way 2 ppl who are doing a dance rehearsal fall through a big pane window without doing anything. All they were doing was leaning up against the window and bam, they fell through. It's being investigated as we speak.

In any building, especially older, there is the chance the window isn't 'proper' anymore. I think its very possible that the window could come out of the molding, after working with glass for the few years I did, I learned alot about it. It depends on if the glass fell out of place or if it broke and they fell out that way. Imagine watching yourself landing on glass ... ugh. Poor girls. But there have been documented, albeit few, cases where people have fallen out of office buildings ... although those are more secure and have a totally different effect on structure. But then again it is all speculation and probably the main reason I'm not the one investigating.
Edit: I'd like to see the dance routine they were practicing.

Two college coeds fall through window

BENNINGTON -- Two Bennington College students were seriously injured after falling through a plate-glass window on the third floor of a campus building Wednesday afternoon. The two female students, a freshman and a junior, fell about 20 feet to a brick patio, according to Bennington Police Detective Larry Cole. Police and school officials declined to identify the students, but said both were in their early 20s and are from out-of-state.
The students were rehearsing a dance performance in the school's Visual and Performing Arts Center, according to Ellen Schulte, director of communications for the college. She said one level of the building is underground and that the students fell about a story and a half.
The Bennington Rescue Squad was dispatched to the scene at 2:20 p.m., and police arrived shortly afterwards and found rescue workers administering first aid, Cole said. Both victims were unconscious immediately after the fall, he said.
The students were transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. From there, one was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, the other to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
"It appears to be a tragic accident," Cole said. He said a student witnessed the entire accident from outside the building.
"They were practicing a dance move, and somehow they ended up leaning against a plate-glass window," Cole said. The window, 8 feet 6 inches wide and 6 feet tall from floor to ceiling, broke, sending the students to the ground below. Cole said the glass did not appear to cause any major injuries to the students.
School officials have already organized meetings to inform the community of the incident, Schulte said, and counseling is being made available to students. She said the school has also been in touch with the victims' families.
Theres the story from Thursdays Bennington Banner.
