ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. -- An Oakland County woman was ordered tried on first-degree murder charges in the bathtub scalding death of her fiancÄe's 22-month-old daughter.
Letitia Johnson is accused of holding Jasmine Lawrence-Phillips in a tub of water estimated at 147 degrees on Dec. 18 while the girl was staying overnight with her father, Louie Phillips. She suffered second-degree burns on her face, stomach, buttocks and legs and died the next morning.
