Albany student arrested for assaulting teacher
Teacher was trying to break up a fight
An Albany High School student is facing a felony charge after being accused of assaulting a teacher Wednesday.
Police say 17-year-old Jolan McNeil was fighting with another student at school when the teacher, 36-year-old Paul Contento, tried to break up the fight.
Police say Contento has abrasions and bruises to his head, neck and face.
McNeil was arraigned Thursday morning and is being held in the Albany County Jail.
An order of protection has also been issued in the case.
