A Glenbard East High School driver's education teacher has been charged with having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student, police said Thursday.
George A. Langlotz, 58, of the 2300 block of Hartford Court in Naperville surrendered to police Wednesday on a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and was released from custody after posting $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Will County Court July 11.
Langlotz, who taught at Glenbard East for 20 years, has been placed on paid leave, said Supt. Michael Meissen. "Further employment action is pending," Meissen said Thursday.
Glenbard East school officials learned of the alleged relationship on May 30 and notified Lombard police. Naperville police joined the investigation because investigators believe the abuse occurred in Langlotz's home, between October and May.
Langlotz previously served as the school's athletic director and once taught physical education and science, according to District 87 records.
