A Virginia Beach woman is behind bars because of a video she posted on MySpace. The video was a spoof from a comedy skit, but police say Sandra Venery went too far.

Police say the fact that Sandra Venery made a video wasn't the problem. It was what her little girl said and more importantly what she did that landed her mom in jail.

Venery was arrested and charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

"The MySpace video was depicting a 2-year-old toddler attempting to smoke a cigarette and using profanity. In the same video there's a voice of an adult female trying to coax the child to do this," said Margie Long, with the Virginia Beach Police Depatment.

The disturbing video was removed from MySpace. Apparently someone didn't keep quiet when it came to the welfare of a toddler.

"There's an adult trying to coax a child to smoke a cigarette and there's a legal limit of 18 in order to be able to purchase and smoke a cigarette. So that's a cause for concern," said Long.

The mother faces serious charges and is in jail without bond.

Sandra Venery declined to comment.
