ST. AUGUSTINE - A woman pulled over for allegedly running a red light had a 24-pack of beer strapped in with a seat belt but had a 16-month-old girl unrestrained in the back seat of her car with the toddler's mother, authorities said.

Tina D. Williams, 46, was arrested Sunday after she was pulled over. She was charged with driving under the influence, child abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a valid license, a jail official said. A 24-pack of Busch beer was strapped in the passenger-side seat belt, according to an arrest report.

The girl was in the back seat with 20-year-old Amber Tedrick, who is the toddler's mother, authorities said. It was not clear if she would face charges, but the child was released to her care, according to The Florida Times-Union.

Williams said she didn't know why the child wasn't restrained.

In a purse belonging to Williams, a deputy also found two metal pipes commonly used to smoke drugs, authorities said.

Williams refused to take a breath test, the report said.

The weird thing is that it does not mention anything about the mother getting in trouble.

it mentions that it wasn't clear if she was charged, but they let the baby go with her.........I think the responsibility is on the driver of the car, technically speaking of course.

The driver is the one that should be ticketed because anything that happens in a veh is the drivers responsibility, but the mother should also have been charged with endangering the wellfair of a child because it is her responsibility as a parent to keep the child safe.

It is a smart idea if you don't have a trunk. Objects in a veh can become dangerous and deadly in a crash.

MythBusters did the myth that a tissue box could kill you in an accident. They busted that but confirmed that if you have a bowling ball sitting on the rear window shelf of your car it will definately kill you.
