Conn. student sues after being awakened
DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury officials have been notified they are being sued by a student who was awakened in class by a teacher who made a loud noise. Documents filed with the Town Clerk, a prelude to a lawsuit, claim that a sleeping student suffered hearing damage when his teacher woke him up by slamming her hand down on the boy's desk in December.
Attorney Alan Barry says 15-year-old Vinicios Robacher suffered pain and "very severe injuries to his left eardrum" when teacher Melissa Nadeau abruptly slammed the palm of her hand on his desk on Dec. 4.
A city official says the matter has been referred to Danbury's insurance carrier.

When I was in 7th grade, we had a kid nod off during class. The teacher very quietly told all the students to get out of the room and go to lunch a few minutes early. Then, he moves the clock on the wall foward from 10, to 5. He shuts the lights off, and then gets the janitor to go into the room and start sweeping. The janitor gives the kid a shake and says "What are you still doing here?"
Teacher would probably get suspended at the least for that now. A shame.

The is awsome HL.
When I was in American History my Jr. year the teacher was Mr. Brougham (sp? Dave will remember him), one day a kid was sound alseep and he took took the boggest heaviest book he had in the classroom and slammed it down on the floor right next to him never once breaking his lesson he was teaching. The kid jumped so high it was priceless.
He was by far the best HS teacher I ever had.
That wasn't the short stinky history teacher was it?
I was in a college science lab and had a chalkboard eraser thrown at me to wake me up. Kind of embarrassing, but oh well.

My 7th grade history teacher used to always slap a yardstick on the desk of a student right next to their head while they slept, never caused any problems. Plus it was hilarious one time when this girl ended up pushing all of the papers off her desk when she woke up.

No Brougham was the tall American History teacher who always talked about going to the strip clubs. He lived in Schenectady with his mother though. He would actually have a b-day card from the Bunk House sent to him at school. When I was in high school it was the same time that NY was fighting to get the law allowing woman to be bare chested in public parks. He was a big fan of the law and wanted all the students to have their parents vote for it.

I remember kids talking about him, but I never had a class with him. I wish I did. I could get along with him I think.
My 5th grade teacher Mr. Jahnel was a bastard to the core. We had this exchange student of sorts I think from Japan, his name was Suat Iskender. I will never forget that name. Anyways, this kid was a bookworm and that's all he would do. Even while the teacher was doing something on the board. So one day (I sat in the next row over) the teach must've been having a bad day cause he came over and stood in front of this kid's desk, cupped his right arm around the stack of about 4-5 books, plus the one the kid was reading, and with one swoop cleared the desk (the kid sat on the end row and the teach flung them in that direction). The teach yelled as loud as I have ever heard anyone yell and scared the crap out of the whole class but this kid was calm and cool. He said ok and payed attention the rest of the year but every chance he got he dove into a book. Had to share.

High School shop teacher was Mr. Pohl and there was this crazy kid in class (who set his house on fire a couple years ealier looking for x-mas gifts under the bed with a lighter), well this kid was using one of those circuit testers that beep and was connecting it to itself just to make it beep over and over and over and over again. Well Pohl lost it started screaming and grabbed the tester and threw it across the shop. The best part was that it went through the shops garage door window and out onto the parking lot. He then made the crazy kid clean up the glass mess.

I never had him as a teacher. He was friends with Brougham though.
