After a break-in burglary and subsequent police chase through several home yards in Rotterdam, police have arrested two men and are seeking several more suspects.
Police say they received a report at around 3:45 p.m. Feb. 8th in which the caller reported five males had entered the Curry Rd. home, assaulted the homeowner and fled on foot.
The caller also reported the suspects showed an apparent handgun and a handknife.
Responding officers saw two males fitting the description of the suspects leaving a driveway on Greenpoint Ave. and chased them on foot, catching them in the back of a house about two blocks from the scene of the incident.
In tracking the suspects' trail through the yards of several homes, officers found a laptop computer and a blue duffel bag containing 11 pounds of marijuana packaged separately in 20 ziplock bags, as well as several items of clothing the suspects had apparently discarded.
The following individuals were arrested:
- 18-year-old Michael Monforte of Schenectady, on felony charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary
- 17-year-old Brandon Brown of Schenectady, on felony charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana
- 21-year-old Anthony Sindoni, the Curry Road homeowner who was robbed, on felony charge of unlawful possession of marijuana.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges are possible, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 518-355-7397.
