Not that the guy has too much time on his hands or anything, but Deepak Sharma of Ludhiana, India, has gotten his name registered in the Guinness Book of World Records for sending 182,689 text messages a month, notes gizmo hub Engadget.

That would be, oh, something in the neighborhood of 6,000 messages a day, 253 an hour, 4.2 a minute or a new one every 14 seconds. Which leaves Sharma just enough time get in a quick wrist exercise every 12 hours or so.

Sharma aims to increase his messages to 300,000 in the coming month, according to Web News India, which notes that Sharma sends his rapid-fire messages to his relatives and friends, who purport to fully support his endeavour. Sharma's wireless operator, Airtel, reportedly sent him a 1,411 page bill.

No word on how Sharma supports his habit.

Piss off.

If I could think of that many things to say in a month, I'd have a hell of a lot more posts than I do now. I type much faster then I text. 3338822255 6663333.

I was thinking about why the hell it would be 1400 pages long. Do you get a record of all the text messages you send on your bill or something?

I figured, but how do they itemize it on a bill? It must be 1400 pages of something. If I were to get a phone bill, all I'd want is a section that looked like this:

Text messages ($0.03 @ 182,689): $5480.67

I have no idea what a text message costs, I was guessing. Don't correct me.

i think that they have to itemize for customer records.
kinda like proof of call crap, same as your longdistance bill how they always post what numbers you called.

Cingular has a plan where you can get 200 text included in some package or upto 1500, but if you dont have a package, when you go over 100 its .10 cents a message, and ive done 1500 in a month before, its real easy to run them up.

I text a lot. I had a 2500 a month plan. It was 20 bucks. I used to go over. It sucked. Verizon just started a thing where you can send text messages to any other Verizon customer, unlimited for an extra 5 a month. Maybe that's what dude has. lol.

But yeah... that's a lot.

Yeah, but did you look at the rate in which you need to send messages to attain that number? One every 14 seconds? It takes me that long to type each word on my damn cell phone.
