Guilderland - Police are investigating the discovery of what they believe is a human hand. It was found Friday afternoon in a residential area on West Old State Road, off Carman Road.
Police say a homeowner found the body part.
The homeowner, Paul Gleasman, says he actually spotted the hand Thursday afternoon, but at first glance thought it was a dead squirrel. However, when he looked at it again Friday he noticed it was a human hand covered in a clear surgical glove. That’s when he called police.
Search crews, including helicopters and police dogs, scoured Gleasman’s home at 2925 West Old State Rd. and the area around it for clues to where the hand may have come from and who it belongs to.
