A mother has made medical history by giving birth to twins two months apart, it was revealed today.
Maricia Tescu, from Romania, has two wombs and fell pregnant in each at the same time.
She gave birth to baby Catalin in December and his brother Valentin 59 days later.
Mrs Tescu, a 33-year-old botanist, was told eight years ago that she would never have any more children after a miscarriage led doctors to conclude she had been left infertile.
Valentin was delivered by Caesarean section yesterday - as his brother had been last year.
He said one in every 50,000 women has a double uterus but the hospital believed it was the first case where a woman had become pregnant at the same time in both wombs and given birth nearly two months apart.
