Police searching for driver who hit blind woman
No charges planned; police just want to talk to driver
COLONIE, Feb. 21
By WNYT Staff
Colonie police would like to speak with the driver who hit a pedestrian on Friday. The accident happened on Hawley Avenue near Central Avenue at about 7 a.m.
The woman who was hit is blind and was walking with her guide dog. She suffered a fractured knee and a sprained wrist. The dog was not injured.
Police say the driver won't be charged because she stopped and offered assistance. They just want to talk with her.
Wouldnt that be considered a hit and run if she didnt wait for cops????
