CBA Teacher Fired

On Friday, the school sent a letter home to parents, acknowledging that in June--they learned about an inappropriate relationship Beth Geisel had with possibly two of her students at the all boys college prepatory academy. Officials say the incident happened on several occasions, but not on school grounds. The letter also goes on to say that because of confidentiality concerns, the school is not releasing the names of the boys. The academy says it has a zero tolerance policy for such conduct, and that Geisel was immediately terminated. In addition, CBA administrators say they discussed the situation with the parents of the students involved. While the investigation launched by the board of trustees is ongoing, the school says that no criminal charges have been brought against Geisel, which may be because of the ages of the students in question. Crisis counselors have been made available for students. the board of trustees investigation into this incident is ongoing. School administrators also say they believe this was an isolated incident.

News10 has learned that the teacher in question is Beth Geisel, wife of Key Bank President Thomas Geisel.

News10 was unable to talk with anyone from the school on Tuesday, but sources said staff were instructed not to talk about the incident and were sent home early in anticipation of the media learning about it.
