A body has been found in the Champlain Canal in Hudson Falls.
Police confirm it is the body of a badly decomposed female. It was found by a boater in a box that had floated to the top of the river Sunday morning.
There is speculation that the body could be that of a missing woman from the Syracuse area.
33-year old Lori Leonard of Chittenango in central New York was last seen on May 4th, heading to the Albany area.
She was coming here to see a Hudson Falls man that she met on the internet and had been dating for several months. The man is a convicted felon on probation.
Hudson Falls police said the man failed a lie detector test in connection with Leonard's disappearance, but has not been charged.
