(CNN) -- Osama bin Laden's No. 2 man in al Qaeda has threatened more destruction in London, saying in a videotape broadcast Thursday that British Prime Minister Tony Blair would be to blame.
"To the British, I am telling you that Blair brought you destruction in the middle of London and more will come, God willing," Ayman al-Zawahiri said in a video broadcast Thursday on Arabic-language TV station Al Jazeera.
He appeared to be referring to the bombings on three London Underground trains and a bus on July 7 that killed 56 people including the four bombers.
Al-Zawahiri also issued a warning for the United States.
"What you saw in New York and Washington (on September 11, 2001) as well as the losses in Afghanistan and Iraq, and all of the reports in the media -- these are only the first losses.
"If you continue your politics against Muslims, you will see, God willing, more horror than you did in Vietnam."
Referring to the Western nations who have contributed troops to the U.S.-led coalition force in Iraq, The Associated Press reported him as saying: "As to the nations of the crusader alliance, we have offered you a truce if you leave the land of Islam.
"Hasn't Sheik Osama bin Laden told you that you will not dream of security before there is security in Palestine and before all the infidel armies withdraw from the land of Muhammed," al-Zawahiri said.
"Instead (of accepting the truce), you spilled blood like rivers in our countries and we exploded the volcanoes of wrath in your countries.
"Our message is clear: you will not be safe until you withdraw from our land, stop stealing our oil and wealth and stop supporting the corrupt rulers," al-Zawahiri said, according to AP.
