A woman tried to commit suicide Monday morning by throwing herself onto the southbound tracks of the Metrorail at the South Miami station.
South Miami police say the woman was partially under the train when it came to a stop at about 9:45 a.m. She survived and was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
There was no immediate word on her condition Monday morning.
A Miami-Dade Transit Authority spokesman said police asked that the train not move until an investigation is done.
