I was just listening to the news coverage of this primary that is set for today. It seems Jerry Jennings has missed just one primary since he's been eligible to vote. Archie Goodbee didn't even register to vote until 1998, though he has been eligible to vote since 1960.

I heard that at one point, Jennings had $400K in his election fund while Goodbee had $1K. Goodbee claimed that it doesn't matter. He's going to be disappointed to learn that it does, indeed, matter.

I wonder if anyone in Albany is even taking this Goodbee guy seriously? I think he's a huge fucking joke. How can he sit there and bitch and moan about a system that he hasn't participated in? His credentials aren't even that impressive. Jennings has been in since 1993, so he must be doing something decent.

I don't live in Albany, so I'm not really sure if I even give a damn about who wins. The Goodbee thumpers and his TV ads just amuse me.

Tuesday was Primary Day in the Capital Region and the results are in.

Mayor Jerry Jennings easily wins the democratic nomination for another term as Albany Mayor. What was the most closely watched race of the Tuesday primaries, Jennings took the win with about 9,400 votes beating political newcomer Archie Goodbee by a margin of two to one.

With the win Jennings is virtually assured of victory in November. He is being challenged by Republican Joe Sullivan and Green Party candidate Alice Green.

In Saratoga Springs Thomas Curley will not get another term as Public Safety Commissioner. He lost his party backing and Tuesday night lost the Republican Primary to retired trooper Lawrence Britt.

Also in Saratoga Springs, Valerie Keen wins the Democratic Party Primary for mayor. She defeated former Deputy Mayor Hank Kuczynski, who lost last time to current Mayor Michael Lenz.

I'm actually quite disappointed that Goodbee didn't even mount any sort of campaign. Did he think he was going to win based solely on his black skin? I'd bet he did think that.

Another thing that surprised me was that on the news this morning he was discussing how he must now find a job because he hasn't worked in over a year and a half and he has a family to support.

Why the fuck was this guy even running? Because he's like a majority of Albany?
