Twenty-year-old Adriene Cruz was sentenced to life in prison and not eligible for parole until he has served 35 years. Cruz was an ice cream truck driver when he raped and impregnating a nine-year-old girl.

The victim and her mother have since moved to another state because of all the publicity this case has generated. The girl had an abortion.

Cruz was on probation for a theft violation when he committed this crime. He made a statement in court through a translator saying how sorry he is for everything he's done.
